James Crawford, , is chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and senior vice President for laboratory services, in the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. This integrated 15-hospital system serves the Long Island, Queens, and Staten Island portion of the greater New York metropolitan area. For that purpose, Crawford is also professor and founding chair of the Department of Pathology for the new Hofstra University School of Medicine, slated for matriculating its first students in July 2011.
Crawford earned his bachelors degree from Dartmouth College and his medical and PhD degrees from Duke University. After interning in pathology at Duke University Medical Center he trained as an anatomic pathology resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, including a fellowship in gastrointestinal pathology; he also served as a Liver Pathology Research Fellow at the Royal Free Hospital in London. He has served as a faculty member in the Department of Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, was associate professor and director of the Program in Gastrointestinal Pathology at Yale University School of Medicine, and served as professor and chair of the Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine.
Crawford is well known as a liver pathologist and for his research in hepatobiliary pathophysiology. In more recent years he has served as e-Editor-in-chief of Laboratory Investigation, president of the Association of Pathology Chairs, and chair of the Board of Directors for the College of American Pathologists’ Political Action Committee. He is currently chair-elect of the Council of Academic Societies of the Association of American Colleges, and is a member of the AAMC Board of Directors

Jeff Hanson is a vice president with Thomson Reuters Healthcare and is responsible for crafting, executing and coordinating their cross-market activities including performance measurement, pay for performance and value-based health initiatives including the patient-centered medical home. His responsibilities in this arena are business-wide – encompassing cross stakeholder approaches that leverage assets and capabilities from across Thomson Reuters Healthcare.
Hanson has more than 25 years of experience spanning the various stakeholders in health care, including employers, health plans, Medicaid and hospitals. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters he served as a regional health care manager, benefits strategy and design at Verizon Communications. Hanson is active in numerous local, regional and national speaking engagements across the country, focusing on provider performance measurement, pay for performance, and mutli-stakeholder collaboratives. He has presented on pay for performance before various groups on Capitol Hill. In addition to speaking, Hanson is often quoted in various industry publications and news stories, capturing insight into various related health care issues.

Dr. Rollow, who is board-certified in family medicine and has a master’s degree in public health, has an extensive background in quality improvement, medical management, and managed care, having directed the CMS group with responsibility for the QIO and ESRD Networks programs, and having held senior medical director positions at BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois and at Anchor HMO, a large staff model plan based in Chicago. Dr. Rollow seeks to promote measurement and improvement in quality and efficiency of healthcare services, with a focus on payment methodologies and technical support for physician office redesign and care management.
