Screening for Tobacco, Alcohol and Other Drug Use: NIDA
Colorado Clinical Guidelines Collaborative (CCGC) developed a one-page (two sided) guideline on universal substance screening for primary care settings – based on USPSTF and other best evidence for routine screening for unhealthy substance use. Supplemental materials including a sample brief intervention and recommended tools for further assessment of those who screen positive on the brief screen are available on the CCGC website. The materials are condensed into a short guideline for busy primary care.
