Center for Employer Engagement
About the CEE
The Center for Employer Engagement (CEE) aims to create standards and buying criteria to serve as a guide and tool for large and small employers/purchasers in order to build the market demand for adoption of the Medical Home model.
CEE - Goals and Tasks
- Formulate a Patient Centered Medical Home Purchasing Guide for Employers- NBCH -DONE-
- Enforcing Expectations through an RFI/RFP
- Plan Design Strategies
- Supporting Pilots
- Final Draft Mid May -DONE-
- Write generic/model contract language that health benefit consultants can use as a basis for negotiations with health plans and administrators to reimburse providers for—and certify that they are providing—PCMH services.
- Identify reimbursement and claims structures in place between employers, administrators and doctors that can be used to support PCMH, or need to be adapted to support PCMH
- Language will establish mechanisms for employers to certify their beneficiaries are in a qualified PCMH
- Projected by the End of August 2008 -DONE-
- Engage in a broad based education and publicity campaign to convince employers, health contract negotiators, benefit administrators and other decision makers on the value of PCMH, and the utility of contract language and purchaser guide to make a transition (glide path) to supporting PCMH provision
- Begin upon completion of the model contract language and final drafts of purchaser guides
CEE - Updates and Contact Information
The Collaborative is working with the National Business Coalition on Health and the National Business Group on Health to develop a series of guidance for employers of all sizes to begin integrating the Medical Home model into their plans with health benefit companies. We will update Collaborative members as these efforts continue to develop.
The Center held a call yesterday to discuss the latest version of the Purchasers Guide. There was a significant amount of conversation relating to the guide that touched upon key issues that reflect upon the direction and the work of the Collaborative as a whole.
